6P thoroughly enjoyed their local walk to Seven Arches Aqueduct. The experience allowed the children to put their new Geography skills, OS symbols and 4/6 grid references, into practice. The walk also provided an exciting opportunity for the children to engage in their new Science unit, completing some pre-learning exploration about trees and insects.
During our first couple of weeks as a class, we completed our ‘All about Me’ project. We shared what we like, love and what we find challenging. We really got to know each other as a class including a brilliant circle time, sharing what our hopes or any worries about Y6 are. We are working towards a portrait of ourselves that will be part of a mosaic of every child in school. We made the link, as a class, that this mosaic will show us as ‘one body of many parts’.
We had a reflective afternoon in 6P, sharing about our experiences at ACE and looking towards the future, thinking about what skills we have and what we’d like to do. Each child completed the end of the stem sentence and contributed towards the display. As 6P’s teacher, I felt a great sense of pride for how the class have grown through the years at ACE and excited about what they’ll do next.

We laughed, we conquered, we adventured! Splendid time and amazing behavior on our residential at How Stean Gorge.
We loved learning about the geographical location of the Mayan civilisation – making links between ancient lands and the countries they are today. We used our atlases as a class to research and explore these areas.
