We loved learning about the geographical location of the Mayan civilisation – making links between ancient lands and the countries they are today. We used our atlases as a class to research and explore these areas.

A big thank you to Mr Sherbourne for his beautiful pictures of our Easter Service at St. John’s Church. Special shout outs to Alvin & Zayyan for their readings. Please enjoy some of our photos from the day below.

The children thoroughly enjoyed wearing their pyjamas for World Book Day, alongside sharing their favourite bedtime stories and an exciting library session led by our librarian, Miss Whitely!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our new writing unit linked to our class novel, Holes. Here we are using our visualize and summaries skills to condense our model text into visual points.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Science lessons at Allerton High! Here, we are exploring convection (in a very exciting way)!

We take our jobs as story heroes for our reception buddies very seriously! It brings lots of joy to our Friday afternoons listening to their stories and creative ideas.

6P loved ‘showing what they know’ about WW2 – selecting areas of interest to the to create an infographic, combining learning from our lessons and their own research.

Our Anti-Bullying Week began today! To raise awareness, children and staff were encouraged to wear odd socks – embracing how we are all unique and different. We have our BBC Live Lesson and ‘the Big Quiz’ to look forward to later this week. #PowerForGood

6P were making links between fractions, decimals and percentages this morning – recapping key Y5 learning, whilst in the throes of our Y6 Fractions unit. As a class, we had in-depth discussions explaining our answers using reasoning, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. In the pictures, the children were having a ‘prove it’ challenge in pairs, proving that 125% = 1 1/4 = 1.25.
